6. Registering for webspace
There are many ways to get a host for your website, so it will be shown to the public of the world wide web.
To get your own Domain, (your own internet address, eg www.yourname.co.uk) you have to check search engines to find web space provider that will offer internet addresses with your desired country code (like for example .uk, .de, .it, etc).
Also you can find loads of free web space offers in the net. These companies finance themselves with advertisements. Often they have little ad-windows that will open up with your webpage, but you can just click them away.
One of the free webspace provider is tripod. If you type into your internet browser www.tripod.com you will arrive at the website that is shown in the graphic above. Just click at sign up and follow the sign-up instructions. They will lead you to the whole process of registering where you will have to put in your name, e-mail address, login-name etc.
Now you are all set to upload your website!! Just go ahead to the next step:
When you have done this you will receive all the information to start to use your webspace right away.
The address of your web page depends on what login-name you registered for. So for example: http://.login-name.tripod.com
Keep all the passwords and login-name and your webpage address somewhere safe. You will need them.
